Bark Candy

Makes approximately 40 pieces

 

40 Saltine crackers

8 ounces butter [2 sticks]

1 cup brown sugar

12 ounces mini chocolate chips

½ - 1 cup crushed walnuts [or pecans]

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Line a cookie sheet with quick release foil, or parchment paper.

Arrange crackers in a single layer on cookie sheet.

Melt butter over low heat. Add brown sugar stirring slowly until melted. Spoon butter/sugar combination over saltine crackers.

Bake for 7 – 9 minutes.

 

Remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crackers. Bake for additional 1 to 2 minutes or until melted.

 

Remove from oven. Sprinkle with nuts.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

 

Peel off foil/parchment paper and break bark into pieces [like a peanut brittle].
