Peanut Blossoms
Makes about 3 dozen
Sift together: 1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
Cream together: ½ cup butter
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
Add: 1 egg, unbeaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat well…
Blend in dry ingredients gradually. Mix thoroughly.
Shape dough into balls using a teaspoonful for each. Roll ball in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 minutes.
Remove sheet from oven and place solid milk chocolate candy kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down firmly so that cookie cracks around the edges. Return cookie to cookie sheet and bake again for 2 – 5 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from sheet and cool on rack. Store in dry/tight container.
